Dance like nobody is watching, love like you’ve never been hurt is how I am trying to live my life. To that I would also like to add sing like nobody is listening, and look forward to what wondrous adventures the next day may bring. Much too often we are afraid to try something new, step out into the unknown, let our hair down or just change our old comfortable ways. Not that I want to live recklessly, but I want to make a concerted effort to have fun and take some calculated risks. I am revamping my notions of love and intimacy as I am convinced that most successful relationships start with a friendship even if the “chemistry” is there. My goal is to write about my journey to find and develop such friendships with men that would last even if the romance is gone. I love writing as much as I love cycling. Cycling was one of my passions up until my early 30’s. Career and job responsibilities took center stage and cycling fell off the list. I started “riding” again in my spin classes at the gym a few months back. After regaining my active and healthy lifestyle, I cannot fathom going backwards at all. Now about the writing… here I am, rekindling the flame…
I am an adventurous diner who enjoys a variety of ethnic cuisine. I am fairly active and enjoy, hiking, cycling, tennis, kayaking, canoeing, theater, concerts, dancing, DEFINITELY dancing, hot air ballooning, sailing and horseback riding. Basically, anything that sounds remotely fun, I may be game. Having said all that, I am comfortable with either Outdoor or Indoor activities.
I like action flicks as much as I like my chick flicks. Sean Connery will always be my favorite James Bond to whom all others pale. Looove the Bourne trilogy, and I do not shy away from sci-fi as I am a FRINGE fan. I am working my way through WIRED’s top sci-fi films of all time. I have to admit, though, I am a softie for sappy holiday movies and classic 40′s films.
I have a very eclectic taste in music from classic rock (BTO, Led Zeppelin, Santana, Grandfunk Railroad), some country(Taylor Swift, Shenia Twain), classical (Opera, Classical Guitar), some contemporary (Black Eye Peas, Keisha, Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys) and Disco. Sorry, I cannot ignore disco. So, basically, anything I can dance to. I am a 70′s child so going to Big Chill night at the Grad every so often with a group of close friends is one of my fun things to do.
As of 3/7/12 I am reading “Dream Language” by James Goll and just finished reading “The Boy who came back from Heaven” and “90 Minutes in Heaven” by Don Piper last week.
In general, I like most classics: Pride and Prejudice, Robinson Crusoe, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Three Musketeers, From the Earth to the Moon, 20, 000 leagues under the sea, The knights of the round table, The Prisoner of Zenda, etc.
